Its cheap enough that it's worth a look. Ask for engine pics to see if the seller is a dipshit or it actually has a V6, and proceed from there.

Here's my guess: the rotary took a shit, like it does, and he swapped in a V6 from some other platform. He mentions that it'll pass emissions, because I'd guess he's living in an area that does smog checks, but doesn't inspect under the hood (or is lenient, as long as it passes).

I don't know for sure. I would think it should fit though, being two fewer cylinders in length.
